Day 1: It is around 7:30 AM when I start from Gangtok to an arduous yet exciting and landscape journey to Lachen via Mangan. Lachen is at a height of around 9000 feet and 124 kms from Gangtok and provides a picturesque view of Mt. Kanchendzonga. As I start from there, encounter a small landslide which has  caved part of the road on the way to Mangan. Mangan is 58 kms from Gangtok and it took us around 2 hours due to the landslide jam, but we made in time. Had momo for breakfast and then started the journey further up north.Mangan is called as ‘Cardamom capital of the World’.

A few kms from  Mangan reached Singhik view point and offered me panoramic view of Teestha Valley. Wanted to have this spectacular viewpoint with a cup of tea and landed into a terrace hotel(cafe) which offered us the best view of the valley. The combination of tea and the breathtaking landscape was indeed a priceless experience. On the way, enjoyed Bhimnalla Waterfalls.

By evening, reached Lachen and reached home-stay which was already organized.

Day 2: This is my dream come true day. Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world, located at an altitude of 17,100 ft and reached via Thangu. We reached by 11:00 AM and it was the most awesome experience I could have. Gurudongmar Lake provides panoramic and magnificent view of Mount Siniolchu & Kanchandzonga. We were back at Lachen towards late afternoon and then took rest.

Day 3 : This day, we are to visit Yumthang Valley, Yumesongdong and Zero Point. The weather was superb and we started pretty early to see Yumthang Valley and my eyes were towards visiting Zero Point. Yumthang Valley is known for Rhododendrons, Orchids & varieties of flora & fauna during spring in the month of April & May. Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks. On the way back had a visit to Sulphur Hot Spring, having medicinal values.

After spending good amount of time, it was time to say good bye to North Sikkim. We started back to Gangtok and reached by 8 pm and back in the hotel.

Next day, it was time to start back via Teesta river to Sivok and then to Bagdogra.

Another memorable trip came to an end, but would be going again and again to this place.
